Kicking Off December in Leavenworth

We hit up another holiday event!

The base did a tree lighting, where they had some snack stations, photos with Santa, carriage rides around the historic part of the base, and of course, they turned on the lights on post.

It was a good opportunity to meet up with a few of hubs' classmates and families, and luckily, it's been really mild weather in Kansas, so it wasn't too bad to hang out and chat until the official lighting was about to go down. Baby A. got to run around a bit and visit with some other toddlers, too.

I really enjoy the base activities because I love the spirit of community, even when it's a smaller event. That's part of what I'd hoped for in living on base.

The following day, we attended a local breakfast with Santa, followed by a perusal of the small market of local vendors. We grabbed some brats from the meat vendor we usually see at the farmer's market, as well as a few handmade gifts.

The Santa part... well, I'll let the photos speak for themselves.

Obviously, Baby A. wasn't down for sitting on a stranger's lap after being torn from the warmth and security of his daddy's arms. So. The *best* photo we got included hubs. LOL.

We did, however, have a friend take our photo at the tree lighting, which is rare for us and was very cool!

There's be more activity updates after next weekend! Stay tuned!!
